Masonic graveside services for Mr. Alex Tully, 79, of the New Salem community, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at New Salem Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mr. Tully passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Arcadia, in Galveston County, on Nov. 3, 1933. He was a Master Mason of the New Salem Lodge No. 87, Texas City Lodge No. 1118, and the Bullard Masonic Lodge No. 785. He also was a member of the El Mina Shriners in Galveston, and he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Tully worked for Amaco Chemical for 30 years in Texas City.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Watkins Tully; two daughters, Resa Le Davidson and Dana Nell Tully; granddaughter, Relene Reeder; and great-grandson, Bradley Neill; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Ruth Tully; sisters-in-law, Mary Barton and Judy Watkins; nieces and nephews, Karla Jo Watkins, Joel Watkins and wife Denise, Jerry Watkins and wife Debbie, Julianna Brightwell and husband Charles, Jeff Barton and wife Kim, Jan Horne and husband Paul, and Clint Tully, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and many true friends.
Pallbearers will be Jack Hodges, Jack Wilkerson, Bruce Grams, Mark Hicks, B.J. Best and James Paul Shipp. Honorary pallbearers will be Masons of the New Salem Lodge No. 87 and Bullard Lodge No. 785.
