Obituary

Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Ivey, 93, of Rains County, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014.
His wife, Ruth Marie Ivey, 90, of Rains County, preceded him in death, on Thursday, May 22, 2014.
Funeral service for Mr. Ivey is scheduled for noon Monday, June 9, 2014, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler where Mrs. Ivey was interred following her service on Tuesday, May 27, 1014.
Mr. Ivey was born on Sept. 5, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Emmett L. and Rose LaMonica Ivey.
Mrs. Ivey was born on Nov. 18, 1923, in Tyler to J.D. and Lille Lowe Human. They were married on May 2, 1945, in Tyler. Mr. Ivey served his country in the U.S. Army and he retired from Texas Power & Light.
Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brother, Edward Ramon Ivey.
Mrs. Ivey was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter; and sisters, Lucille, Sue and Joy.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivey also were preceded in death by a granddaughter and two grandsons.
Survivors include sons, Wayne Ivey and wife Louise, of Rains County, and John Ivey and wife Kay, of Files Valley; daughters, Karen Fraser Moore and husband Paul, of Quincy, Ill., and Ruthie Wilson, of Ames, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other loving family and friends. Mrs. Ivey also is survived by a sister, Johnnie Human.
