Services for Sgt. Zephan Garrett Cannon, 31, of Tyler will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Flint Baptist Church, 11131 FM 2868W, in Flint with Pastor David "Took" Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Zephan passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Tyler. He was born March 5, 1987 in Tyler to Bruce and Jackie Cannon.

Zephan was a member of Pine Brook Baptist Church. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended Tyler Junior College. He served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps as a rifleman, marksmanship instructor, and marksmanship coach. Zephan completed three tours of service, two in Afghanistan and one Sea Service War on Terrorism deployment. Zephan worked at Moon Fencing and was Youth Minister and Worship Leader at Pine Brook Baptist Church in Tyler.

Zephan was preceded in death by his sister, Molly Michelle Cannon; and his grandparents, Dolores and Jimmy Graham and William Cannon. He is survived by his loving family including parents, Bruce and Jackie Cannon; brothers, Zach and Zane Cannon, sisters-in-law Taylor and Rachel Cannon; 4 precious nieces and nephews, Molly, Knox, Witt, and Reagan Cannon; grandmother, Jean Cannon; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be long-time friends Josh Kersh, Mitch Long, Andrew Mason, Michael Mason, Dane Ritcheson, Michael Ross, Drew White, and Blake Winegeart. Assisting with the service will be Christian Kolbert, Hiram Moon, Josh Hill, Preston Hill, and Emma Bynum.

Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Flint Baptist Church.
