Nov. 12, 1985-Oct. 25, 2017

Price Mackenzie Davis, of McKinney, formerly of Tyler, made his last inappropriate and probably sarcastic comment on October 25th.

A brilliant man, Price drifted through high school and then college, graduating, to his mother's great relief, from UT Tyler in May 2011, with a BS in Psychology.

Price loved his family, fine cigars, Reese's Cups, "Two & a Half Men," beautiful women, and Macallan 12 ... and not necessarily in that order. He hated fettucine alfredo and hypocrites. But he loved to tell stories, and you could be sure 75 percent of every story was true.

Although a less than average life span, Price did not live an average life. He traveled where he wanted to travel, laughed inappropriately at every chance, read what he wanted to read, and loved who he wanted to love.

He is survived by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 nephews, 1 niece, and a ton of friends.

There will be no viewing since his family refuses to honor his request to have him standing in the corner of the room with a glass of scotch in his hand and a cigar in his mouth so that he would appear natural to visitors.

Since funeral services probably won't be allowed in any reputable house of worship, a memorial service and celebration of life will be held at the Davis family home at 3:00pm on Nov. 11th.

Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Price's life in their own way; raising a glass of your favorite beverage in his memory would be quite appropriate.

Price was killed when he rushed into a burning pet store to save a litter of purring, adorable kittens. Or maybe not. We all know how he liked to tell stories.

Price was an incredible person. He and I worked together with people who had special needs. He always treated them with irreverent respect, which made them feel like the coolest of grown ups. I took leave while my family mourned my grandpa. Another coworker left a post-it on my monitor that said, "I miss you!" Price left a post-it on that post-it saying, "

I have a strong feeling that the apple didn't fall far from the tree in Price's case! I am very sorry that he died, and I bet you miss him more than you let on, but I was wondering... could I come be a member of your family? Sounds so fun! Good bless you!

Buddy and Melissa- so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. We didn't ever meet him, but his obit sounds like he was an unforgettable person. When Buddy worked with RC at Cooks, he kind of remember seeing your children. Again our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Price,
From all of us here in the cigar lounge, I would like to say how much we all love you and miss you, brother. The smiles and laughs that came from one of your famous wisecracks could outnumber the stars. You always had a way of making people laugh no matter how dark or bleak their day was until then. Thank you for the fond memories my friend. May you rest in peace.

Oh Pricey...I know you are laughing at all of this. Yeah, you got me one last time. I can't say I'm surprised. I don't think you know how much I miss you, and will always miss you. Will is heartbroken but we keep talking about the wonderful times you two had together. You were the best brother anybody could ever ask for. We love you so much.

I never knew you, but I sure wish I did. You sound like one of my people. I will certainly raise a glass and toast your arrival at the Pearly Gates with your dry wit, stories and sarcastic sense of humor. I'm sure you already have them rolling up there. Know you were loved, and hundreds of people who never knew you were amused greatly by your obituary and you have probably started a new trend. I know that I intend to write my own Obit now and insist my family use it. Rest in peace young man, you were here too short a time, but you made a lasting impact on everyone who knew you and hundreds who didn't.

To the Davis family,
I've never had the pleasure to meet Price or his family. He sounds like quite a character. I had an uncle that I was very close pass years ago, Prices obit could have easily been his. Tonight I will raise a glass "2 fingers high" of Jim Beam in his honor, and in honor of of my Uncle Pat.
Condolences to family and friends left behind.

I was blessed and proud to know Price all his short life. I never knew or met a more loving, caring and ornery guy. (A family trait) He shared your joy and felt your pain. Always there to lend a hand or a shoulder. The best brother, friend, adored uncle, and grandson. Your passion for living how you wanted and loving how you wanted has spread across the globe and it's no wonder because that's how big your heart is. My precious Pricey, you will be greatly missed. But your memory will comfort us until we meet again. Here's to you and may God bless. Cheers!!!

Mark Twain understood life its time we do the same ~ "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Smoke...what a ride!".

Price, Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you.

I missed out on meeting someone who would probably have been my Partner in Mischief at every opportunity. Well lived life to have been remembered such as this, and to have family and friends willing to celebrate your passion for gusto to print this. How lucky you were to have people like that in your life and how you will be missed by even those who never met you but would have liked to. I will raise a glass to your memory.

I had the pleasure of reading your obituary and it made me smile. I did not know you Price Davis, though you seemed as thought you would be a great person to know. I am sorry you were taken from this world so early. Life is too short to live it in a way that restricts you from living life and you sir.... sure lived that life. You enjoyed life and I hope as others read your story they will be truly moved and realize life is to short. To the Davis family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I can not imagine loosing an incredible person such as price himself. I see his birthday is coming up in 2 days and know this is going to be a tough time for you all. You have an out pouring amount of support from people who know of you and don't know you or him. Please know you are never alone and I give you virtual hugs XOXOXO. You have touched many lives with your story and I hope you know that. May his memories forever live on in your hearts and live every day like its your last. R.I.P Price and happy birthday... celebrate big up in heaven!!!

Dear family and friends of Price M. Davis, what a joy to have known and helped 'raise up' such a man. Our creator is enjoying his company, and I am sure that Price is enjoying the fact that he has brought laughter and joy to so many folks he never met. However, I'll plan on looking him up on the other side. Prayers to his family and friends, I am sure he will be greatly missed.

I wish I had met him; he was incredible--and you, his family, are even more so for courageously showing us a piece of his soul. This is how I want to be remembered, too, for who I am and who I was throughout life, and with love and laughter. Let the tears flow and the laughter grow. Like many others here, I did not have the luck to meet you, but I will surely look for you in the After-Life, Price.... because you sound simply PRICELESS. It is clear that you will be greatly missed. You were taken very young. I must only think that God in all his glory and wisdom was getting bored and needed a bit of spicy humor up there in Heaven. Thus, he took you home. Your obituary serves as a reminder to all of us - spend your time wisely, be kind to people, make them smile. My deepest condolences to your family and friends.

Price was a special guy. He did have his own special humor and interesting view of the world. I found his view of people refreshing. He was honest and true to his beliefs and didn't care if anyone agreed with him. I find that admirable in a society that demands conformity he refused. While I am sad to not have my friend here with me I know he is in a better place. Every time I drink McAllen I will toast to Price.
