Mary Louise Thompson was born in Tyler, Texas, on January 28, 1928, to Betty Franklin Thompson and Albert Holbert Thompson. She was the younger of their two daughters, and was a life long resident of Smith County. She graduated from John Tyler High School in 1945, and worked as a telephone operator for AT&T until she retired after 47 years of service.

Mary passed away on Sunday, May 6th, 2018. She is pre-deceased by her parents, sister Jimmie Pearl (Theresa) Thompson Sporer, and brother-in-law Robert Alexander Sporer.

Miss Thompson was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9th, at 10:00 am, with Father Guillermo Gabriel-Maisonet officiating, with visitation at the church thirty minutes before the Mass, under direction of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mary will be remembered with love by numerous friends. Thanks are extended to the loving care received from the hands of Harbor Hospice nurses and aids, as well as the staff of Waterton Plaza.
