Mrs. Sammons passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, in Tyler. She was born February 29, 1932, in Palestine to Paul and Etta Dell Carnathan.

Martha and Martin were married for 66 years. They were high school sweethearts who were later inseparable through the Air Force and law school. Martha and Martin were a wonderful example of what a Christ-centered marriage should be, always putting family first and always welcoming others into their home. They were members of Green Acres Baptist Church for over 50 years. Both Martha and Martin were heavily involved in the church. Martha was involved in the nursery and bereavement ministry and taught Sunday school. Martha dedicated her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was known by her infectious personality, warm presence, loving and playful demeanor, and beauty that was unmatched, inside and out. Her grandchildren, as well as numerous others, affectionately called her Bebe. Martha was also a treasured friend to many.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Sammons; her son, Lee Sammons; and her sisters, Gayle Dingler and Judy Thomas. She is survived by her loving family, including her sister, Mary Morgan; her daughter, Lisa Adams and husband Rodney; and grandchildren, Kara Martin and husband Jess, Caitlin Fechner and husband Michael, Kelsi Adams, and Kenzie Loper and husband Johnathan.

The family would like to express their love and gratitude to Natalie McKenzie, Jennifer Rollins, Glenda Akins, Deanndace Sheffield, Arlene London, Kawaii Gordon, Rhonda Gordon, and Ola Bolton, along with Hospice of East Texas. Their love and support was invaluable to the entire family.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Adams, Johnathan Loper, Jess Martin, and Michael Fechner.
