Obituary

Funeral services for Ida B. Raymond Taylor, 93, of Tyler will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel in Tyler. Rev. Gerry Giles will officiate the service. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mrs. Taylor passed away on April 12, 2019 in Tyler. She was born on April 23, 1925 in Shelby County. Her parents were Dolphus J. Raymond and Nancy Anderson Raymond, who preceded her in death.

Ida worked as a practical nurse and then as a bookkeeper for many years. She never liked being idle and enjoyed gardening and baking. When any of her children or grandchildren came to visit her, she always had their favorite pie waiting for them.

Ida was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Taylor; her son, James Duke Taylor; her granddaughter, Jenny Cade Folsom; and her sister, Melba Jean Raymond Hayden. She is survived by daughters, Tommie Taylor Hodges and husband Paul, and Patricia Taylor Wells and husband Robert; granddaughter, Julie Cade Murphree and husband Jerry; great-granddaughters, Halley Cade Farmer and husband Alan, and Mackenzie Mary Murphree; great-grandson Robin Richard Combs; and great-great-granddaughter Kendall Lea Combs. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she made along the way.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Center on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
