Brett I. Murphy-Weaver, of Mineola left this earthly plane to go home on Oct. 26, 2018. Brett was born in Dallas to Richard A. and Lanona F. Murphy, May 18, 1961.

A 1979 graduate of Justin F. Kimball high school in Oak Cliff, Texas, Brett went on to study music and theater at the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City.

Returning to Dallas in 1985, Brett worked as a waiter and bartender who garnered much love and respect from a faithful clientele. He also performed in local theaters and nightclubs delighting audiences with his acting prowess and booming voice.

Moving to Mineola in 1995, Brett quickly became involved with Lake Country Playhouse where he performed in countless shows, his favorites being musicals. He soon became a member of the board of directors, serving in various positions including president of the board for many years. His dedication and passion for music and theater will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was also the manager of VFW Post 7523 in Mineola for 17 years, where he made lifelong friends with many of the veterans/members.

Preceded in death by parents, Richard A. and Lanona F.(Melton) Murphy, Brothers in law John Wagley and Dale Weaver, Sister in law Teri Weaver and Nephew John Luke Odom.

Survived by his loving spouse of 27 years Scott Murphy-Weaver of Mineola, Tx. Sisters Cindy Wagley of Hope Ar. and Robin and Bob Martin of Mineola, Tx. as well as a host of Nieces and Nephews. Brett also leaves behind his precious fur babies with whom he enjoyed countless years of love and companionship.

A celebration of life will be held at Lake Country Playhouse 114 N. Johnson St., Mineola, Tx. on Sunday November 11th at 6pm. with Ray Dillen officiating.
