Services for Bernice Oliver, 96 of Tyler, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 in the chapel of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Bivens officiating.. She will be laid to rest at Bascom Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to service from 9-10 a.m.

Mrs. Oliver passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at her home in Tyler. She was born September 25, 1922 in Corsicana to the late John Thomas Richardson and Gladys Goodson Richardson. Earlier in her life she worked for Glenwood Hospital as a housekeeper and was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved outdoor activities, Gardening, Raking, also Drawing and painting and playing guitar. She was a member of the National Revival Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Oliver, several siblings and other beloved relatives.

Survivors are a son, Bobby Oliver(Cheryl) of Flower Mound; daughters, Rosalee Vollmer and Brenda Bivens(Billy) all of Tyler, Carolyn Parker(Chuck) and Dorothy Featherston(Scott) all of Lindale; step-daughter, Connie Perkins of Austin; sisters, Dorothy Gaiser and Sandra Thomas(Ron) all of Tyler, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
