Obituary

Arlin Harris, 86, of Bullard, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Bullard.

He was born February 19, 1933 in Ben Hur, Texas to Lofton and Alice (Butler) Harris.

Arlin was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. For 32 years, Arlin worked for Kelly Springfield after working for Gulf State Telephone. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, farming, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gene, Tom and Jack Harris, and sisters, Clemontine Patterson, Elizabeth Ray, Bernice Ray, Leone Foster and Mary Alice Adams.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Harris of Bullard; children, Mike Harris and wife Deanna of Bullard, Suzanne Bryson and husband Steve of Austin and Jeff Harris and wife Mary of Tyler. His siblings are Charles "Skeeter" Harris of Bullard, Zane Langley of Bullard, Nellie Hathaway of New Boston and Martha Spears of Bullard. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Jenise, Jesse, Jaelyn, Sarah, Matt, Jamie and Kyle; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Danny Harris, Tony Foster, Charles Wayne Ray, David Adams, Brian Harris, Eric Spears, Rickey Harris and Harlan Ray. Honorary pallbearers are his nephews Randy Spears, Tom Spears, Chet Foster, Chad Hathaway, Sandy Lee Hathaway and Steve Harris.

Visitation will begin on Monday, May 27, 2019 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Arlin's family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

The funeral service is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. Donnie Barron will officiate. Mr. Harris will be laid to rest at Larissa Cemetery in Mt. Selman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701. The family would like to give a special thanks to Misty, Jasmine and Geary of Hospice of East Texas for their loving care and support.
