Anthony "Tony" Myers, 73, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Providence, R.I., he was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Tony most currently worked as VP/COO at East Texas Medical Center and served as president of Paramedics Plus, retiring in July 2011. Tony joined the Fort Wayne Fire Department in 1962, serving as fire chief from 1980 to 1984.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Panyard Myers of Huntertown, Ind.; daughter, Christine (Cliff) Bowers of Angola, Ind., daughter, Lynn (Kevin) Lee of Fort Wayne, daughter, Michele Krakowski of Brownsburg, Ind., daughter, Jil (Ashley Black) Myers of Sarasota, Fla., stepson, Matthew (Pamela) Jones of Bothell, Wash.; stepdaughter, Carrie (Joshua) Jones Cranfill of Fort Wayne; and nine grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by father, Frank Voltas, and mother, Concetta Zundell.
Mass of Christian Resurrection is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with one hour calling prior. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a vigil service at 4 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Soup Kitchen or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
