Bobby Alston Tate, 89 years from Tyler, Texas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Bobby suffered from illnesses associated with Dementia.

Bobby with born in Fairfield, Texas on April 21, 1930 to Young Powell and Allene Newman. He had two siblings, Purney Campbell and JoNell Wolf. He graduated from Fairfield High School attended Kansas City Technical Institute and Sul Ross College. He married Dawn Ballenger Tate in 1952 and began his career in sales. He received several sales awards and recognitions for City Planning Commission.

Bobby served his country in the United State Navy (1950-1954) and fought in the Korean War. He received a war medal from the government of South Korea for serving on land during a frigid winter.

Bobby was an avid bass fisherman. He was in the Tyler JCs and American Legend. He served on the Board for Sear's stockholders and enjoyed serving on the Grand Jury. He loved helping others and was always available.

His spouse of 66 years, Dawn B. Tate and children Kathy Tate Hill and Lewis Hill, Randy and Stacey Tate, Bart Tate and Amy Tate Comstock and Brad Comstock survives him. Grandchildren Kennedy Hill, Josh Tate and Audrey Comstock also survive him.

Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019, 12:00 at Centre Presbyterian Church located at 15760 State Hwy. 322 North. Burial to follow service at Elderville Cemetery. Visitation - 11:00-12:00 prior to the service.

Presiding over the service will be Bishop Walter Banek and Dr. Jerry W. Phelps..
