Funeral services for Mitchell E. McRight, age 74, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Bro. Donnie Sadler and Bro. Larry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Corine Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mr. McRight went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in Tyler.
Mitchell was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Lufkin to the late Ed and Bonnie McRight. At a young age, he began working on automobiles. He made a career as a mechanic for more than 50 years. During that time, he worked for both Ford and Chevrolet in Jacksonville.
Mr. McRight was ordained in 1974. He pastored at Lakeside Baptist Church, Travis Street Baptist Church, and preached at many other places. Mitchell was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Among all he did, his greatest job was being a husband, father and grandfather. He is and will continue to be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bina Adelia "Coot" Warren, Edna Smith; and brother, J.C. "Buddy" McRight.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy McRight, of Jacksonville; sons, Carlton "Skipper" and wife Teressa McRight, of Jacksonville, Steve McRight and wife Tamara, of Omaha, Sean McRight and wife Lori, of Jacksonville; brother, Joe McRight and wife Earline, of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Connor McRight, Austin McRight, Grant McRight, Tony Fenemore, Mark White and Junior White.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Willis.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
