Funeral services for Caleb Cecil Luther, age 17, of Winona, will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Park Heights Assembly of God in Tyler with the Rev. Jamie Eitson, assisted by Jason McIntyre and Brian Boyd, officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
Caleb was born Feb. 14, 1995, in Tyler to Cynthia Pope Riley and Peyton Luther, and passed away Jan. 24, 2013. He graduated from Lincoln Academy and was enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering Program at Tyler Junior College. Caleb's true passion was serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a bass guitarist in a Christian band and occasionally played the drums at his church, Park Heights Assembly of God.
Survivors include his mother, Cynthia Pope Riley; his father, Peyton Luther; stepmother, Brandi Luther; grandmother, Norma Daniels; grandparents, Connie and Betty Luther, Jim and Dixie Fortune; brothers, Mathew "Conner" Riley, Karsen and Kamryn Luther; sister, Alyssa Luther; two aunts, Brandi Hendley and Phebe Mims; one uncle, SSGT Kristopher Hendley; three nieces, one nephew and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Cecil and Blanch Daniels and Walter H. Luther; two uncles Fred Andrews and Sammy Daniels; and granfather Jimmy Pope.
Pallbearers are SSGT. Kristopher Hendley, Chance Nichols, Broderick Thompson, Cody Simpson, Jay Bell and Tommy Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Livingston, Dathan Tucker, Mark Alvarez, Christian Alvarez, James Alvarez, Kenny James, Billy Fortune and Winona FFA officers.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Park Heights Assembly of God Church in Tyler.
