Earl Swift


Memorial services for Earl Swift, 67, of Tyler will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Rev. Bennie Portwood officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

He passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Tyler.

Earl was born on July 5, 1945, in Newport, Wales, Great Britain, to the late Stanley and Anne Swift. He was a graduate of John Tyler High School and was a retired tool and die maker for Regal Machine and R and R Machine. Earl was a founding member of the Cossacks motorcycle club.

He was preceded in death by son, Larry Dale Swift.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Becky Swift of Tyler; sons, Benjamin Wade Cheatham and wife Sarah of Winona; daughter, Teresa Gail Cheatham of Winona; granddaughters, Brittney Nicole Cheatham and Jennifer Black; grandsons, Alan James Cheatham, Justin Ray Coslett, Luke and Mathew Hogenmiller; brother, John and his wife Carolyn Swift of Tyler; sister, Kathy and her husband Gary Fain of Whitehouse; two brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
