Henry Pettigrew


Funeral services for Henry Joe "Ice Man" Pettigrew, 65, of Whitehouse are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Whitehouse Church of God in Christ with Elder Noel Caldwell officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cem-etery under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mr. Pettigrew died Dec. 26, 2012.

He was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Whitehouse to the late John and Mary Pettigrew Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Survivors include sons, Reginald Pettigrew and Brandon Pettigrew; daughters, Vicki Redrick, LaTashwa Pettigrew and Yolaundia Pettigrew; brother, John Pettigrew Jr.; sisters, Naomi Crawford, Dorothy Pettigrew, Carolyn Williams, Barbara Bowie, Vera Howard, Janice Banks and Olivia Raney; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
