Services for Mrs. Mildred Daniels are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at East Chapel CME Church in Mineola with the Rev. Leonard Spurling officiating.
Mrs. Daniels passed away at the age of 87 on Sept. 5, 2011, at her home.
Mildred Brinkley Daniels was born May 10, 1924, in Mineola, where she had been a resident all of her life. She was the oldest member of East Chapel CME Church, and served as the mother of the church as well as a stewardess. She worked for a sewing factory in earlier years, and more recently worked in home health care. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and taking care of her yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cardell Daniels; son, Benny Frank Tennyson; parents, Oscar Brinkley and Lydia Thompson Brinkley; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Opal Smith of Waco and Alfred Tennyson of Mineola; two sisters, Norma Freeman of Mineola and Mae Fern Henry of Dallas; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at East Chapel CME Church in Mineola from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011.
