Memorial services for Mrs. Opal M. Brown Robertson, 61, Silverdale, Wash., are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Community Funeral Home of Tyler chapel with Dr. S.L. Curry Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.
Mrs. Robertson died May 2, 2011, at her residence. She was born Oct. 21, 1949, in Mineola and had lived in California, Fort Lewis and the last 33 years in Bremerton/Silverdale, Wash. She retired from Kitsap County Commissioners' Office, was a member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church of Bremerton. She served on boards of the United Way of Kitsap County and YWCA, and served in various capacities from Sunday school staff to executive director, as well as serving in the Pacific Northwest District Council. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Ophelia Brown; one brother; and one son.
Survivors include her husband, Bishop Lawrence R. Robertson, Silverdale, Wash.; sons, Brenton Robertson, Tacoma, Wash., Jason (Lucretia) Robertson, Port Orchard, Wash.; Lawrence Jr. (Christy) Robertson, Puyallup, Wash., and Aaron Robertson, Bremerton, Wash.; daughters, Stacey (Jason) White, Bremerton, Wash., Crystal (Justin) Anderson, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Nedra Robertson, Denver, Colo.; brother, James Brown, Fort Worth; sisters, Patricia Erwin, Eletha Snider and Alice Simmons, all of Hawkins; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
