Ronald James Weidenbach, 59, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, in Jacksonville. A rosary will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Autry Funeral Home, 1025 SE Loop 456, Jacksonville, at 7 p.m. Funeral mass and service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1023 Corinth Road, Jacksonville.
Ron was born Feb. 27, 1951, in Alvin to Robert and Helen Weidenbach. He graduated from Alvin High School and attended Texas Christian University. He moved to Jacksonville with his family in 1978, pursuing a job at Alcoa Aluminum in Palestine. He joined the East Texas Medical Center family in 1989 and remained there until his death.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with close friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sandy Weidenbach of 37 years; his daughter, Laurie Nelson, son-in-law David Nelson, and grandsons, Ashton, Collin and Brendan Nelson of Rowlett; his son, Bryan Weidenbach, daughter-in-law Jaclyn Weidenbach and their daughter, Lily of Dallas.
Pallbearers include Gary Cavasos, Bill Coslett, E.J. Eckel, Leon Escareno, Ernest Grady, Hector Martinez, Joe Osborne and David Warren.
Honorary pallbearers include Steve Bowen, Joe Peacock, Dr. Mark Thompson, Dr. Lawrence Cunningham, Ronald Schmidt, Larry Findley and Ronald Rhymes.
Sandy would like to thank all family and friends for their many thoughts and prayers over the years. Words cannot express our gratitude for the strength it's provided our family.
