Services for Marion Carruthers, of Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Noonday United Methodist Church with the Rev. Christi Conway officiating. Burial will be in Noonday Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.

Mr. Carruthers passed away April 3, 2010. He was born Oct. 5, 1928 in Mabank to the late Robert and Mary Ann Carruthers.

He retired from Howe-Baker Engineers, was in the Army during the Korean War and was a longtime member of Noonday United Methodist Church.

Mr. Carruthers is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcia Carruthers; son, Billy Barham; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Luther Hendrix and Rhonda and Mark McBride; grandchildren, Robbie Barham, Wes McBride and his wife Michelle, Matt McBride and Danielle Hendrix; great-grandchildren, Caden McBride, Brooklyn McBride and Molly Barham; brothers, J.C. Carruthers and Sherman Carruthers; sisters, Cassie Pippin and Jean Old.

Pallbearers are Wes McBride, Matt McBride, Austin Elliott, Lara Elliott, Charles Tomlinson, Billy Jack Barham, Luther Hendrix, Mark McBride and Carter Elliott.

Honorary pallbearers are sister-in-law, Martha Jo Tomlinson and brothers-in-law, Larry Tomlinson and wife Beverly, and James Tomlinson.

The family will receive friends Monday at Burks Walker Tippit from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Noonday Methodist Memorial Fund, 17320 Texas Highway 155 S., Flint, 75762.
