Services for Trecia Yvonda Young, 41 years old, from Forney, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Creek CME Church, Ben Wheeler, with the Revs. Anthony Johnson and Wooduronn Holman officiating.

Ms. Young was born on Feb. 12, 1968, in Tyler to Billy and Ruthie Young. She was a 1986 graduate of Van High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas Tech University in 1993. After graduating from Texas Tech University she worked at Mother Frances Hospital and attended The University of Texas at Tyler to obtain a teacher's certification. Upon receiving her certification, she began working at Dallas I.S.D. and was currently employed with Garland I.S.D. at Rowlett High School. After teaching for several years, she decided to enhance her education and attended Lamar University, Beaumont.

Her love for children is evident by her decision to become an educator. She devoted many hours to helping her students achieve their utmost goals. She was active in community organizations such as Top Ladies of Distinction and Top Teens of America.

As a devoted member of Prairie Creek CME Church, Ben Wheeler, she participated in various church organizations, such as choir, ushers and youth programs. She was on the church administrative board.

She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Young, Tallahassee, Fla.; parents, Billy and Ruthie Young, Ben Wheeler; brother, Jasper Young (Brenda), Alexandria, La.; sister, Sherlon Young-Spurling (Leonard), Tyler; and a host of other beloved relatives.

She will be loved by one and all and will truly be missed.

Arrangements are under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
