Graveside services for William Hays Fears, 77, of Tyler, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday July 9, 2014, in Bridges Cemetery with Hugh Bob Wiley officiating. Burial will be under direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.

Mr. Fears passed away July 5, 2014, in Tyler. William Fears was born Aug. 21, 1936, in the community of Chapman to William Herman Fears and Annie (Nancy) Garrison Fears.
William was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Ross Fears, Harvey Gay Fears, Roger Dale Fears; and sister, Mary Nell Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sarah Elizabeth Irvin Fears, of Tyler; daughter, Rebecca Ruth Timm, of Landstuhl, Germany; son, David Duane Fears, of Tyler; daughter-in-law, Samantha Lynn Osburn Fears, of Tyler; son-in-law, Bill E. Timm, of Landstuhl, Germany; granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Fears, of Dallas; grandsons, James Patrick Fleshman, of Houston, and Jody Lynn Fears of Landstuhl, Germany.
Mr. Fears graduated from Henderson High School and married Sarah on Sept. 17, 1956, in Pine Hill. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961 and retired in 1995 from the Tyler Morning Telegraph after 32 years as a Linotype machine operator.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
