Funeral services for Willie Brown, 79, Tyler, are scheduled for noon Saturday, May 31, 2014, at St. James CME Church with the Rev. Reginald Garrett, eulogist.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Mr. Brown died May 25, 2014, in Tyler.
He was born Sept. 25, 1934, in Palestine and had resided in Smith County more than 50 years. He was a graduate of Clemmons High School, a member of Ebenezer AME Church and had retired from Western Foundry and Flowers Baking Co. He enjoyed rodeos, gardening and farming.
He was preceded in death by parents, Hobert Brown Sr. and Cora Barnett Brown; one brother; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Williams Brown; sons, Gerald Brown and Tracy Brown; brother, Archie T. Brown, Tyler; sisters, Lenese Deckard, Palestine, and Margee M. Brown, Houston; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
