Services for Donald Reid Creasman, 75, of Tyler, will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Crofton and the Rev. Lanny Bridges officiating.
Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Creasman passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas with his family at his side.
He was born May 22, 1938, in Cleveland, Tenn., to David Monroe and Maizie Murphy Creasman.
Donald grew up in Knoxville, Tenn. He graduated from West High School of Knoxville and continued on to receive a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Additionally, Donald attended Officer Candidate School for the United States Navy and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Navy, serving our country from 1961 to 1964.
Donald worked as a business executive and real estate developer for more than 40 years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and was called "Big Daddy" by his grandchildren. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and an active participant in Rev. Bridges' Sunday School Class. Additionally, he was involved in Make a Wish Foundation and March of Dimes.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 50 years, Janet Anderson Creasman; three children, Scott and wife Lauren, of The Woodlands, Kelly and husband Jason Buckner, of Birmingham, Ala., and Ashley and husband Chris Odom, of Sanger; 10 grandchildren, Elisabeth, Kristy, Michelle and Lindsay Creasman, Holden, Hunter and Blake Buckner, Austin, Allison and Abigail Odom; brother, David Creasman; and other family and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Make a Wish Foundation, 1021 N. College Ave., Tyler, 75702; or March of Dimes, 3800 Paluxy Drive, No. 115, Tyler, 75703.
