A memorial service for Jana Lauren Shearer, 21, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Reeves officiating.
This fun-loving sweet girl was taken from us tragically on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. Jana had many friends and lived life to its fullest. She was born in Austin on March 26, 1986, to Thomas Shearer and Stephanie Shearer, and moved to Tyler when she was a young child. She graduated from John Tyler High School and was a Senior Lieutenant Brigadette for the 2003-2004 school year. She received many ribbons and awards, including Outstanding Performer 2003. Jana loved life and had great plans to travel the world. She always had a smile on her face and a glow in her eyes. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Merlene Shearer; her uncle, Bill Shearer; and her aunt, Jan Rothwell (for whom Jana was named).
Her loving family includes her mother, Stephanie Shearer of Whitehouse; father, Tom Shearer of Fort Worth; sisters, Rebekah Thomas and Melissa Shearer, both of Kansas; nieces, Trinity Rose Thomas and Madison Eileen Holgersen, both of Kansas; grandmother, Joan Jones of Tyler; great-grandmother, Oma Carpenter of Tyler; grandfather, Homer T. Shearer of Tyler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
