Services for Weldon Griffin, 91, of Whitehouse will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 with Reverend Sherman Mayfield, Reverend Lester Foreman, and Reverend Pat Graham officiating interment will follow in Whitehouse Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Mr. Griffin passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Weldon Griffin was born to the late, Thomas Roy and Bertha Gilliam Griffin on July 16, 1926 in Whitehouse, Texas. He married his sweetheart, Virginia Griffin who preceded him in death. Weldon retired from the City of Tyler where he served as Maintenance Supervisor. Mr. Griffin also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and a member of St. Johns Lodge 53 and Henry Marsh Bell.

He is survived by his son, Glen Griffin and wife, Debbie; daughters, Donna Fairbank and husband, Gregg, Diane Whitesides and husband, Don all of Whitehouse; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Griffin is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, James Griffin and sister, Bobbie Hanks.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Whitesides, Zachary Kafka, Hunter Kafka, Ricky Rushing, Jason Sebring and Butch Kafka.
