Services for Virginia Sue Ham Jones, 91, of Tyler, will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel in Tyler with Dr. John Beard and Rev. Lee Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jones passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Chandler Nursing Center. She was born September 6, 1926 in Lindale to Isham Dewitt and Nettie Sue Crews Ham.

Virginia graduated from Lindale High School and attended Tyler Commercial College. She worked at Camp Fannin and Texas Power and Light Company. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and in John Childs' Sunday school class. Virginia was an active member of the Dogwood Garden Club, Women's Forum of Tyler and Willowbrook Country Club since 1974.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Stewart Doyle Jones; sister, Dorothy Nell Rhoades; brothers, Coy D. Ham, Jack Elvis Ham and grandson, Michael Altadonna.

She is survived by her loving family including daughters, Deborah Altadonna and husband Tommy of Vero Beach, Florida and Libby Robuck and husband Tom of Chandler, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Robuck, Tom Altadonna Jr., Karla Altadonna Swiegart; many great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Douglas Ham of Tyler and sister, Lucy Decker of Gladewater.

Pallbearers will be Chris Robuck, Scott Jones, Allen Smith, Jason Garza, Mike Newman and Bill Friday. Honorary pallbearers will be James Jones, Dr. Douglas Coltman, Dr. Frank Nevetta and John Childs.

Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy. in Tyler.
