Services for Stacy DeWayne Hunter 43, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Central Baptist Church, 1909 E. Rusk, in Jacksonville with Pastor Michael Hollie officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mr. Hunter died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012. He was born Nov. 1, 1968, in Jacksonville to the late Carolyn G. Holman and Grady Wayne Hunter.
He was a 1987graduate of Jacksonville High School. He attended Cisco Junior College and Northeastern State University. While attending Cisco Junior College and Northeastern he received numerous awards including All Conference, All American and two OIC National Championships. He signed a contract as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a member of Carter s Chapel Baptist Church.
He worked for the city of Jacksonville as a code enforcement officer.
He wanted to give back to the community so he started coaching in 2002. He coached basketball and football where he won numerous awards. He was a father figure to many boys and girls of this community. He owned Stacy's Detail Shop and Stacy's Night Club. He helped a number of individuals at the detail shop and his night club that could not always secure employment. He catered to all cultures.
He married Julie Spears of Vain, Okla., and three beautiful daughters were conceived.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn G. Mosley; and his grandparents, Bozie and Lela Hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Hunter of Vian, Okla.; three daughters, Jessica, Jennifer and Jordan (aka) his Bubba Hunter; grandmother, Perthenia Holman; father, Grady W. Hunter; two nieces, Sophia Holman and Racquel Holman; three nephews, Joshua Holman, Tyler, Damian Gipson, Jacolby Barker of Jacksonville; and a special nephew/son, Jeremey Chappelle; a host of aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends that will forever cherish his memory. He will be remembered for his hard work and that Million Dollar Smile.
Pallbearers will be Roderick Tatum, Rodney Tatum, Dewayne Hollis, Alvin Bell, Victor Wallace, George Kincade, Frankie Hogg and Randy Hunter.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, 431 N. Main St., Jacksonville.
