Sherrell A. Green of Martin's Mill passed away on September 8, 2017 in Tyler of natural causes.

He was born on January 11, 1944 in Wills Point to Angus Leon Green and Birdie Smithart Green. He was a minister, a talented carpenter and cook, a man who loved the outdoors.

Having been orphaned at a young age and raised in less than ideal circumstances, he was fiercely protective of his own family. He faithfully devoted himself to his wife Linda throughout their marriage and loved his children, taking on responsibilities that others abdicated for the sake of stability in his grandchildren's lives.

Sherrell was a Christian who sought to serve his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by devoting his life to ministry and sharing the gospel with others both in the U.S and in Mexico - with his devoted wife Linda always by his side. He gave generously of himself and his resources. He and Linda were known for their hospitality. He was a member of Little Hope Baptist Church.

Sherrell was a man's man - a natural leader, a risk-taker, tenacious, and a person who lived his life based on values and convictions. He would give 110% into any endeavor in which he committed himself, and he strove for excellence in all that he did. He loved teasing and joking with others, his unfettered laughter filling any room.

Sherrell is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Ortez; daughter, Lisa Cole; son, Lance Green; grandchildren: Ashley Ortez, Sterling and Yessica Ortez, Dustin and Shelby Burleson, Dakota and Morgan Burleson, Angela Cole; Genesis Green; sister, Sondra Pelzel, and sister Nelda Mackey.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday at Eubank Funeral Home. Services will be held 1 pm Monday, September 11, 2017 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Bill Slayton and Bro. James Nickell officiating.

Internment is at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
