Funeral services for Rosa Ida (Brown) Collins, age 88, of Troup, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 13, at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, Texas. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Terry Collins of the Cameron Road Church of Christ will lead the service and burial will follow in the Bullard Memorial Cemetery.
Rosa Collins was born in Jayton, Texas on June 26, 1928. She was the 10th child of 13 children born to Earl Henry Brown and Olive (Warner) Brown. Rosa lived with her 7 brothers and 5 sisters in Buncum, Texas, and attended schools in Whitehouse, Texas. Rosa was a devoted wife, a sweet and kind mother and grandmother, the finest example of Christian love, and the pillar of our family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, and her husband of 65 years, James Linuel Collins.
Rosa is survived by her daughter Donna (Collins) Valdes, husband Donny; her son Dennis Collins, wife Buina; 5 grandchildren Leah Valdes, Kevin Collins, Kimberly Scherer, Lindsey Valdes, and Kay Collins; 4 great grandchildren Cassandra Gonzalez, Kelsey Valdes, Solomon Valdes, and Ethan Scherer; brother Eldon Brown; and sister Martha Burns.
