Dr. Oliver "Scott" Leinart, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017 with his loving wife of 43 years, Charlotte, by his side. Scott was born? in Royse City, TX, on April 4, 1922 and graduated from Royse City High School in 1939, from East Texas Teacher's College in 1943, and from Baylor University College of Medicine in 1946 where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Scott also served in the United States Navy Medical Core during WWII where he attained the rank of Lieutenant (Junior Grade). He later served in the Naval Reserve. After completing his internship at Saint Louis City Hospital, Scott began his medical practice in Terrell, TX, later becoming a proud owner of Colonial Hospital. Scott practiced medicine for 40 years, was a member of the American Medical Association, held a Life Membership in the Texas Medical Association, and held an active license to practice medicine until his death. In addition to practicing medicine, while in Terrell, Scott served on the Terrell City Commission and was active in the Boy Scouts and the American Heart Association, was a member of Terrell and Royse City Chapters of the Eastern Star, Terrell Masonic Lodge, and Hella Temple Shriners. After his retirement in 1987, Scott and Charlotte moved to Hideaway, TX where they have enjoyed retirement with many cherished friends. Scott especially enjoyed playing golf with his golf groups, The Bunglers and The St. Andrews Group. He was a member of the Hideaway Lake Community Church. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Leinart, Sr. and Beulah Myers Leinart and by his sister, Dorothy Farr. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, their combined family of eight children and their spouses, his sister Helen Rhea, fifteen grandchildren, and a host of special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, August 4th from 6pm - 8pm and the funeral service will be Saturday, August 5th at 10am; both will be held at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home, 206 W. South St., Lindale, TX 75771. Following the service, burial will be at 2:30pm at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 2500 State Hwy 66 East, Rockwall, TX 75087.
