Funeral services for Michael Haley, 78 of Oakwood, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Oakwood Church of Christ, with James Haynes, Jr and Randy Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Palestine.

Mr. Haley passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home. Michael Keller Haley was born July 4, 1939 in Oakwood, TX to Lovie Lee Haley and Stacy Keller Haley. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1961 with a degree in Business. He worked for the State Comptroller and John Deere before returning to Oakwood so he could farm and ranch full time. He later worked for Northern UPG, Inc. as a crude oil buyer, and started Haley Contracting, and was also the owner of Haley Business Forms. He continued to enjoy his ranch until his health would not allow him to. He loved God, his family, friends, church and community. He was a member of the Oakwood Church of Christ and served on the Oakwood ISD school board for many years. He enjoyed talking to everyone about his Savior Jesus Christ and always had words of encouragement for young people.

Mr. Haley was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by daughter Sondra Hays and husband Matt of Elkhart, son Bradley Haley of Oakwood, sister Carolyn Wilson and husband Miles of Austin, seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Barnes, Brandon Bing, Mark Coates, Terry Lee Coates, Kolt Haley, and Bob Reeder. Honorary pallbearers; Ernie Colbert, Charles Barnes, Joe Wayne Redding, James Eldridge, Max Cothran, Neal Brown and Sammy Johnson.

Condolence calls will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
