Services for Michael Bryant Herrington, 65, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler 75703 with Chaplains Elwood Stetson and Don Barron officiating.

Mike passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with Huntington's disease on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Waterton Plaza, Tyler. Even in the face of adversity, Mike never let that define him. In the grips of this disease, Mike remained loving to his wife, family, friends and caregivers.

He was born to Joe Bailey Herrington and Barbara Bryant Herrington on September 27, 1952 in Tyler, Texas. Mike was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church where he served as an usher.

Mike was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Southern Methodist University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Centurions Club, and ushered for many years for the Texas Rose Festival Coronation. Mike worked in the oil and gas industry his entire career and was a member of numerous oil and gas organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Barbara Herrington and his sister Susan Davis. Surviving loved ones include his wife of the last 28 years, Cassie Herrington of Tyler; son, Kearby Herrington and wife Jennifer of Tyler; son, Bry Herrington of Tyler; daughter, Amalia Goodwin Wedell of Tyler; and son, Kyle Goodwin and wife Amanda of Austin. Grandchildren, Flint, Maddie and Mary Claire Herrington of Tyler; Kylan, Leighton and Ward Wedell of Tyler; Elijah and Stella Goodwin of Austin; brother Jeb Herrington of Plano; and brother-in-law, Chris Weiser and wife Margo of Magnolia, Arkansas.

A special thank you to all of the caregivers at Sundance Memory Care and Waterton Plaza. They are truly angels on earth and we appreciate so much their loving care.
