Services for Marjorie Dailey will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Rock Hill Baptist Church, Brownsboro with her son, Pastor David Thompson officiating.

Marjorie was born December 26, 1936 in Tyler, Texas and passed away September 30, 2017 in Chandler. She was a member at Opelika Baptist Church.

She was a long time resident of Chandler and lived the last 4 years of her life at Chandler Nursing Center. Many may remember her as the manager of Chandler's first Dairy Queen. She retired from Caldwell Zoo in Tyler.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Jasper Dailey and two daughters, Jana Freeman and Debra Boyd. Her survivors include her son, David Thompson and wife Donna of Schulenburg, Texas; daughters, Sheila Laymance and husband Stanley of Brownsboro, Shirley Parmer and husband Delmon of Chandler and Gale Suggs and husband James of Chandler; stepson, Bill Dailey and wife Pam of Athens; stepdaughters, Louise Golden and husband Jimmy of Tyler, Lena Daily of Murchison, Quida Melton and husband Dwayne of Corsicana and Lucy Bragg and husband David of Murchison; 60 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Venable and wife Jane of San Angelo; sisters, Jean Corley of San Angelo, Jane Wilha and husband Conal of San Angelo and June Valliere and husband Bob of Chandler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joey Costlow, Samuel Laymance, Scotty Laymance, Shane Parmer, Brady Thompson, Chandler Thompson, Ruston Thompson, Jereomy Boyd, Jim Suggs, Matthew Suggs and Andrew Suggs

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Chandler under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
