Marion Celeste Kirby has gone home to her Heavenly Father. Funeral service officiated by the Rev. Mitch Tollett is scheduled for 11a.m. on Sat., March 10 at her beloved St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3232 Jan Ave, Tyler.

Marion was born Jan. 28, 1924 in Anaconda, MT to the late William M. & Ethel C. Johnson. She attended college and worked in Montana before arriving in Dallas in 1945. Marion joined Beta Sigma Phi in 1946, and was still a member at her passing. She loved her "sisters" dearly.

Marion & Jesse G. Kirby, Jr. were married June 17, 1949 and enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his passing in 1994. The Kirbys were partners in Kirby Construction Co. Marion obtained her real estate license, working for Baker Lucas Realty and in later years, was the first person you were greeted by at Murphy's Furniture. She retired from a Tyler advertising agency at age 80. She loved nature, fishing, cooking and enjoying gourmet meals, good friends, the symphony, football and "her" Texas Rangers.

Marion is survived by son, Jesse G. Kirby, III and daughter, Marilyn Celeste Kirby, both of Tyler; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren and one great- great-granddaughter.

Marion is also survived by many dear friends and has most certainly joined those who have gone before her. The family requests memorials be made to St. Francis where Marion was an active member since the 1970s.
