Funeral services for Luther B. Lawless, age 93, of Hideaway, Texas are scheduled for 10:30 am Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in DeBerry, Texas with Rev. Terry Cashion officiating and Barbara Wilson presenting his Eulogy. Burial with military honors will follow in the Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. Mr. Lawless died Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Tyler, Texas VA facility. He was born in DeBerry, Texas on January 20, 1925 to the late Bernice Earl (Doc) and Ibbie Fern (Nichols) Lawless. Mr. Lawless served in the United States Army receiving a Purple Heart and retired as a school principal after working for several school districts including Winona ISD, Canyon ISD, Gladewater ISD and Pittsburg ISD. He enjoyed golfing and was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay Lynn Lawless, his son, James Craig Lawless and sisters, Frances Ditmore and Lillian Kelley. Mr. Lawless is survived by his wife of almost 46 years, Brenda Lawless of Hideaway, Texas; son, Jerry Mark Lawless of Austin, Texas; step-daughter, Teena Rowe of Atlanta, Texas; step-son, Rick Berry of Hideaway, Texas; sister, Gloria Creel of DeBerry, Texas; brother, Jimmy Lawless of DeBerry, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Rowe, Josh Terry, John Berry, Jeremy Berry, Keith Wyly and Ryan Choate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
