Louise Boulter Chapin went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2007, in Dallas. She had a private service at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery beside her first husband of 28 years, Robert Boulter.

She was preceded in death by her subsequent husbands, George Jones and Casey Chapin, and her daughter, Nancy Boulter Allen. She is survived by her daughter. Mary Boulter Hanna and son-in-law Ray Hanna; her son-in-law, Thomas Allen; her grandchildren, Robert Vivona, Wendy Danylle Dow, Guy Hanna, Adam Hanna, Meghan Hanna and Caitrin Hanna, and several great-grandchildren; also her sister-in-law, Frances Boulter of Tyler; and her sister-in-law, Jane Boulter Littlejohn and her husband Dr. Orin Littlejohn of Marshall. A number of nieces and nephews also survive her.
Louise had many interests and talents. She served the people of Smith County as Democratic County Chairman, organized the Smith County Democrats, and reactivated the Democratic Women, all in the 1970s. She was a past member of Marvin Methodist Choir and served 20 years as a soloist. She served as circle chairman of the United Methodist Women. Louise was also active in the Garden Club and served as president, and was also active in the Music Club. She was a talented ballroom dancer and performed on several occasions in the area.
Louise was injured in an automobile accident in the summer of 2005 and spent her last months in a nursing home in Dallas.
