Funeral service for Rev. J.R. Mosley Sr., 68, Tyler is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 13, 2017 at North Star Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Jerard Mosley, Sr. as eulogist and Dr. Mark D. Hood, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.

Rev. Mosley died April 4, 2017 in LSU Health Science Center . He was born February 16, 1949 in Grapeland, Tx and resided in Elkhart, Tx., Dallas, Tx ,Corsicana, Tx, Henderson, Tx, and Tyler,Tx

He attended Elkhart Public Schools, Dallas Baptist College, Dallas Tx., Bishop College, Dallas,Tx., B.M.A. Theological Seminary, Jacksonville, Tx. He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.

He served as Pastor of Metropolitan Baptist Church, Hopewell Central District Association, General Missionary Baptist Convention and labored in gospel ministry for the last 50 years. He was a lecturer and mentor to many people.

His parents Mae Lee Walker Mosley and Albert Lee Mosley, Sr. as well as several siblings preceded him in death.

Rev J.R. Mosley is survived by Spouse: Bertha Mae Shamlia Mosley, 2 Sons:Jerry Ray(Marva) Mosley,Jr.,Dr. Jerard (Ketrese) Mosley,Sr. both of Tyler,Tx.1 Daughter: Lashaundra Ellis, New Orleans, Louisiana, 5 Brothers,6 Sisters,4 Grandchildrens.

Public Viewing will be Wed April 12 ,2017 2 pm until 7 pm at Community Funeral Home of Tyler
