Graveside services for John Yura, Jr., 64, of Galveston, formerly of Brownsboro, are scheduled for Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at New Hope Cemetery.

John was born June 9, 1954 to John and Dorothy Yura Sr. He went to his heavenly home October 27, 2018. To know John, was to know what a true Longhorn fan was. He bled burnt orange through and through. Even his Christmas tree was UT ornaments and burnt orange lights. He had a sense of humor like no other and could spout off jokes without missing a beat. He loved to cook, and his grandkids would tell you he's the best cook ever, especially his gumbo. He loved his family fiercely, especially his girls. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Hook em!

John was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly; parents, John and Dorothy; brother, Willie; and niece, Danielle.

He is survived by Penny Yura; daughters, Leslie and Jo and their spouses; sister, Linda; brother, James; nieces, Denise and Rosie; and grandchildren, Gage, Kaleb, Alanna, Kimberlee, Rex, Kane, and Carter.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
