Services for Jo Beth Trantham Ridley, 89, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Green Acres Baptist Church with Dr. David Dykes presiding. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Trantham Ridley died peacefully on July 25, 2018, in Tyler, with family by her side. She was born June 22, 1929, in Beaumont to the late James and Opal Mims. In 1949, Jo Beth married Jack Trantham, her loving husband of 55 years. Following Jack's death, she married Wade Ridley a longtime friend. They were married for 12 years. Wade was a caring husband while Jo Beth fought bravely against Alzheimer's disease.

A resident of Tyler for 67 years, Jo Beth raised two daughters, Linda and Debbie, and helped to lovingly raise her granddaughter, Debby Gunter. For Jo Beth, family was always her primary focus. She was highly active and fully supportive in all aspects of her daughter's lives. She carried that same commitment over to her 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

JoBeth was a wonderful person who was always optimistic, funny, smart, beautiful, and an incredible cook. Early in her marriage, she served as an office secretary helping her husband Jack succeed as an Independent Petroleum Geologist. She was an active member of the community where she volunteered in a wide variety of civic organizations. From 1942 to 1946, Jo Beth travelled from coast to coast with a select group of singers known as The Melody Maids. They sang at military bases, veteran's hospitals and for a variety of charitable organizations. Her real passion however, was her love for her savior Jesus Christ and for her beloved Green Acres Baptist Church. At Green Acres, she sang in the choir, served as a member of the Prayer Team and taught both Sunday and Vacation Bible School.

Jo Beth is survived by her family that includes her husband, Wade Ridley; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Prescott and Jim Prescott of Bullard; three grandchildren, Debby Gunter and her husband Eric Gunter, Clay Franks and Jenny Prescott; as well as three great-grandchildren, Hunter Franks, Cole Gunter and Ella Franks. Jo Beth leaves behind close relatives, Sandy Griffin and her husband Bill of Beaumont.

Thank you to the many caregivers who assisted Jo Beth over the past several years. Their love and care were immeasurable. A special thank you to Vernetta Stevens, Mesha Foster, LaTonya Henderson, Darlene Odom, Angela Ponce and Chrystal Green
