Janet Dowdy Bobbitt, 75 of Tyler, Texas passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at her home. For over 20 years she was a staple of D's Royal coffee Shop doing what she loved most, cooking and connecting with her customers., who many became like family. She was a four-time cancer survivor remaining strong in her faith while encouraging others through their own trials and tribulations. Janet lost her fifth and final battle to cancer while surrounded by her loved ones as she joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Gracie Dowdy, brother, Lonnie Dowdy, daughter, Billie Jane Bobbitt, and grandson, Michael Scholz.

She is survived by her children, Sonja and her husband, Jason Collins, Karen and her husband, Gary Hisel, Joretta Chapman and Lisa Bobbitt; siblings, brother's Buck Dowdy, Allen and wife, Pat Dowdy and sister, Gwen Swan, 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; some of her closest friends; Cindy Hendrix, Bessie Dean, Molly Taylor and "Honey" Richard Singleton.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Boren-Conner Funeral Home - Bullard, Texas and Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, with Brother Richard Singleton officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ariel Lee and Nurse Bill with Hope Cancer Center and also Hospice Connections.
