The funeral service for Mrs. Hattie Bell Ford, 91, Tyler is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Chapel Hill CME Church with Rev. Samuel Smith as eulogist.

Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler. Mrs. Ford was born June 30, 1926 in Tyler and was a lifetime resident of Tyler. She died November 8, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Ford was a member of Chapel Hill CME Church where she served as a stewardess and a missionary. She attended Dunbar School and retired from Chapel Hill ISD as a custodian. She also was a member of Heriones of Jericho.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jethro Holmes and Octavia Holmes Mitchem; sisters: Goldie Johnson, Lovie Warren, Vida Mae Gee, Lorene Lindsey; brother: Jessie James Holmes; and one grandson, Brandon Ford, Sr.

Survivors include her spouse: Leon Ford, Tyler, 7 sons: David, Cecil, Royal all of Tyler, Jessie, Dallas, Leo, CA Lagarett, and Alfonzo Ford both of Tyler; 5 daughters: Bettie Bell, Dallas, LaWanda Mauldin, Ethel Marvels, Loretta Young and Pamela Ford all of Tyler; 27 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Public viewing will be from 12-7 pm Monday, November 13, 2017 at Community Funeral Home of Tyler Chapel.
