Services for George Glen Weaver, age 85 of New Harmony, are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the New Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Shawn Brandon officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Mr. Weaver died Friday, November 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Tyler on May 5, 1933 to the late Lawton and Attie (Jones) Weaver. Mr. Weaver served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a resident of New Harmony for over 52 years. He retired from the Tyler Fire Department where he served as the assistant fire marshall. He was also a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his sisters, Lawtie Adams and Jean Weaver. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patty Weaver of New Harmony; son, Bryan Weaver and wife, Alanna of New Harmony; daughters, Lisa Hester and husband, Steve of Tyler; Teresa Jackson and husband, Russ of New Harmony; Kathy Shelton and husband, Jeff of Lindale; twin brother, Ben Weaver of New Harmony; brother, Wallace Weaver of Friday Harbor, WA; grandchildren, Alan Jackson, Adam Jackson, Lindsey Markel, Brady Weaver, and Carrie Weaver; one great grandson, A.J. Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Jackson, Adam Jackson, Chris Markel, Brady Weaver, Kyle Bennett, and Konner Bennett. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made the the New Harmony Baptist Church building fund, 10251 FM 724 Tyler, Texas 75704.
