Services for Geneva L. Bates, 89, of Overton will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Keith Lybrand officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Overton.
Mrs. Bates died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Overton. She was born March 21, 1923, in Abilene to the late Robert H. and Willie Beatrice McAdoo and was a homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Bates was also preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Allen Bates; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Glenda Bates and Larry and Charlotte Bates, all of Overton, and Don and Debbie Bates, New London; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clint Bates, Cliff Bates, Shawn Bates, Trevor Bates, Wesley Bates and Caleb Bates.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.
