A Memorial service for LaVerne Farmer will be 2pm Sunday, October 15th at Vanderbilt Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas.

Mrs. Farmer was born Emma LaVerne Shouse on January 26, 1938 in Lawerenceburg, Kentucky and passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Tyler, Texas. She was a medical and psychiatric nurse throughout her career that afforded her numerous opportunities to work in a field she thoroughly enjoyed. She graduated first in her class from the Jefferson County School of nursing in Louisville, Kentucky in 1964. Through 30 years of nursing, she worked in a variety of settings which included Norton Hospital and Charter Medical Hospital for Drug & Alcohol rehabilitation in Louisville, Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Farmer, her son Brent Farmer, and daughter-in-law Lori Elliott Farmer of Tyler. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vanderbilt Baptist Church or .
