Rev. Eldon Lee McNaughton passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Buffalo, Oklahoma, to Clyde & Mabel (Dickinson) McNaughton. Rev. McNaughton grew up on a ranch near Buffalo, Oklahoma. He began ranching with his dad at the age of 14 and graduated high school with the class of 1943. He married Katherine Alley on December 31, 1944, in Laverne, Oklahoma. They continued to farm and ranch in the Buffalo, Oklahoma area until entering vocational ministry in 1953. They served together, pastoring in Stapleton, Chappel, Walthill and Thedford, Nebraska; Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; Winfield, Kansas; and Brookfield, Connecticut. He was in ministry with the Assemblies of God for over fifty years. Alongside formal pastoral ministry, ministry in the marketplace was also a significant part of his life through ownership of a livestock equipment business. In later years, he came out of retirement to plant a church in Kemmerer, Wyoming, with his wife, Kay (Kline) McNaughton. . The family will receive friends and relatives 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at the Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 1:30 PM Friday, October 6, 2017, at 511 West Main in Waxahachie, Texas, with Reverend Gaylon Claunch officiating.
