Doris Mae Barron (Aunt Doris, MaBear, Mom...) passed into her eternal home on March 14, 2017. Doris was born an identical twin on June 25, 1924, in Waco where she was a resident most of her life. She moved to Tyler in 1956 and then returned to Waco in 1967 to serve as a Dorm mother at Collins Hall, Baylor University from 1967 until June of 1991. She was MaBear to many girls every year and claimed them all as her daughters.

Doris was a resident of the Tyler area since 2006 when she moved back from Waco. Mrs. Barron leaves behind one sister, Bonnie Loyce Schaefer, of Marble Falls; son, Carl Wayne Barron of Bullard and his wife, Nancy; two grandchildren, Drew Barron and Katie Alaniz; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley Roach and Abby Skipper. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Barron Jr. who passed in 1948, her father and mother, three brothers, a baby sister and of course her twin sister.

Doris will leave a legacy of joy and will be remembered by many as a friend, a favorite Auntie, a servant and a great prayer warrior. Many in our family appreciate your prayers for her over the past several months. We know she is happy and healthy and celebrating life with her heavenly family.

Memorial services will be at First Baptist Church of Lindale on Saturday, March 25, at 2 p.m. There will be a private interment at the graveside in Waco at a later date.
