David Wayne Graves, 66, of Tyler went to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2017 after a valiant battle with cancer.

David was born in Baytown on Nov. 1, 1950 to Horace B. (Bo) Graves and Betty Jo Graves. He married his loving wife Linda on Dec. 29, 1972. They were blessed to be married for 44 years.

He was a 1973 graduate of Baylor University. He worked as a CPA and in various financial roles, including Sky Ranch and Paragon Capital Trust. He was a member of the Texas and National Societies of CPAs.

David was a servant of the Lord and faithfully served Him as an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church.

David is preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and multiple other family members. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Tyler; son, Chris Graves and wife Merin with grandsons, Bryce and Bo of Birmingham, AL and son, Kyle Graves and wife Cassidy with grandsons, Nolan and Nathan of Flower Mound; his mother, Betty Jo Graves of College Station; sister, Susan Russell and husband Frank Opitz of College Station; brothers, Paul Graves and wife Gloria of Baytown and Stephen Graves and wife Karen of Odessa; brother-in-law, Kenny Dickerson and wife Jennifer of Bryan; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A special thanks to friends, family, and church members who provided loving care during David's illness. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of East Texas, the , or the church of your choice.

Services will be 11 am Wednesday, Feb.15, 2017 at Green Acres Baptist Church-Chapel with Paul Christman officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 10 am-11am in the Chapel. Graveside will follow at 2:30 pm in Palestine at Land of Memory Cemetery.
