Caulene Key Mason passed peacefully on June 24th in Sherman, Texas. She was born at home in Kirkland, Texas to Vernon and Allie Key on August 10, 1932. At the age of 16, she left to attend West Texas State, where she met and married Jett Jarvis Mason in their third year of college. After earning their degrees, they moved to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where Caulene worked for the Civil Service while Jett served in the Army during the Korean conflict. Upon Jett's discharge, they settled in Spearman, Texas, where Jett opened his CPA practice and Caulene provided a loving home and raised their two children, Jett Jarvis "Jay" Mason, Jr. and Jan Mason.

Caulene, known as Mamaw to most that knew her, was a loyal friend and a grandmother to all. She cherished the time she spent working at the Andrews Center in Tyler, Texas, and did not stop working there until moving to Sherman at the age of 82. She loved spending time with her family and was an avid reader, but her greatest joy was watching her great grandchildren playing around her.

Caulene is survived by her brother Ray and his wife MC, her sister Linda and her husband Walter, her son Jay and his three daughters Heather, Jenette and Ryleigh, her daughter Jan and her husband Ron, and their daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and AJ and Callie and Jake, along with her eight great grandchildren, Zoey, Lily, Jett, Lincoln, Wes, Max, Dylan and Addison.

Respecting her wishes, a private memorial will be held by her family. For those who wish to honor her, donations may be made to the Andrews Center, 2323 W. Front Street, Tyler, Texas 75702.
