Callie Ann Graul, loving daughter of Lisa and Dale Green and Patrick and Kimberly Graul, passed away suddenly on Jan. 31, 2013, after an unexpected illness.
Born on Jan. 28, 1992, Callie's 21 years were much too brief, but her joy, her beauty and her passion for life will leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of everyone she touched. Callie celebrated life. She was a dancer. A member of the Whitehouse High School First Ladies Drill Team, and then the UT Tyler Patriot Dancers, she expressed herself through music and dance. It defined her spirit, and it was her special gift that she thrilled in sharing. She was a student. A junior at UT Tyler, Callie was majoring in kinesiology and minoring in education. She wanted to teach dance, to combine her skill and her education and her love in her own studio - to help others find their own true joy.
She was a sister. First to her younger siblings, then to her sorority sisters, who shared a lasting and unbreakable bond in her beloved Alpha Chi Omega. And, she was a daughter. "A perfect daughter," both feisty and fun, unselfish and giving, with an unfailing eye toward fashion and an ability to love with abandon. She was Callie - and as she celebrated life, we will now celebrate hers. May the music and dancing never end.
Callie is survived by her parents, Lisa and Dale Green, of Tyler and Patrick and Kimberly Graul, of Bullard; her brothers, Shea and Ryker; sisters, Teagan, Rylie and Cadence, all of Tyler; grandparents, Mike and Susan Graul, of Houston, and Jo and W.T.(Red) Follis; aunts and uncles include James Follis, of Houston, Michael and Donna Graul, of Bryan, Tina McKinney Strickland and husband Bobby, of Mansfield, Kelly Graul Parks and husband Lance, of Clear Lake City, and Colleen Graul Rodriguez and husband Jose, of Richmond, Va.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Stewart Family Funeral Home (7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, 903-581-2008) with a celebration of life on at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers in Callie Ann Graul's name at the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, 5939 Castle Creek Parkway North Drive, Indianapolis, Ind., 46250.
"While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance!"
- Callie Ann Graul.
